Many lifelong Democrats have left their party because it has gone too far left. But still, many voters don’t know that Republicans in North Carolina, led by Speaker Thom Tillis, Representatives Nathan Ramsey, Tim Moffitt, and Michelle Presnell, and Senators Tom Apodaca and Chuck McGrady, inherited billions in expenses for which there was woefully inadequate revenue.
Democrats had gone too far. They required neither accountability nor adequate income for massive expenditures. NC Democrats took one-time federal stimulus money for what they knew were permanent expenses, such as teachers pay. After years of asking teachers and other state employees for pay freezes, Gov. Perdue and her Democrats left us in a terrible jam. Now since temporary federal money has ended, they call it a “cut” to education in their ads. Their plan was to increase taxes.
But fortunately Republicans were elected to power in NC – after 140 years- and quickly cut government waste, lowered taxes, passed laws to help – instead of hurt – businesses, created thousands of jobs. Republicans actually increased spending on education by $1 billion.
Vote for Republicans Tillis, Ramsey, Moffitt, Presnell, Apodaca, Crawford, and McGrady for more economic growth, better jobs, and new opportunities.
