The Apple Valley Model Railroad Club will be open during the Apple Festival on Saturday, August 30 & Sunday, August 31 from 10am-3pm. The Model Railroad Club is housed in the Historic Hendersonville Depot on the corner of Seventh Avenue & Maple Street. The special hours are in conjunction with the Apple Festival happening on Main Street and the Farmers Market (Sunday only) on Maple Street in front of the Depot. See the 100’ long HO scale model – including Asheville, Hendersonville, Saluda and other towns of Western North Carolina. There is also an operating “ Thomas the Tank” layout for future “ Engineers” to run. Be a part of Hendersoville’s history as you walk around the 100 year old Historic Depot.
A new venture for the Apple Valley Club is the garden layout currently under construction behind the depot. The idea is a new concept for the Club, in G Scale, which will run outside the building and the scenery will include growing plants and flowers. Watch the progress on the latest project! It’s a grandchild friendly place (bigger “kids”, too)! Saturday & Sunday, August 30 & 31, hours are 10am to 3 pm each day.
