Shelton Steele pouring for Catawba Brewing Tasting Room
Staff Reports-The first annual Signature Event was a huge success and a complete sell out. For two nights, Catawba Brewery’s Tasting Room and French Broad Brewery paired up with local restaurants in an event that packed their breweries from 5pm-10pm last Friday and Saturday nights. It began at 5:00pm both evenings and went until 10:00pm. The Brew, Bites and Bands event was made possible by the Historic Biltmore Village Partnership. The restaurants providing food included: The Cantina Biltmore, Corner Kitchen, Fig, Katuah, Moe’s Original Bar B Que, Rezaz, Ruth’s Chris and Village Wayside Bar & Grille.
Gail Dowell from the Historic Biltmore Village Partnership commented,” This was the first of many more exciting events to be held in Historic Biltmore Village. Our next big event will be a fashion show in May and then a free summer concert in July.” The locations of the Brewery Tasting Rooms couldn’t be in a better location, within walking distance from local hotels and restaurants, with plenty of parking. The Catawba Brewery was started in 1996 in Morganton, NC. Asheville was its first customer 15 years ago. The French Broad Brewery has been brewing since 2001. Both breweries have established a following for their delicious Ales, IPA’s, Stouts, and the like.
